I'm confused (I'm easily confused). Are you guys talking about rotor or caliper on the wrong side?
BTW, Craig,
Welcome and congratulations. That's 8 Porsche seats you have in total. Sure beats minivans.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

At first I thought the calipers looked awkward, I thought the calipers were mounted on the right side of the rotor (if you look at his avatar, left-side being where the caliper is now, which is correct), until I looked at a pic of my brakes.
What Chris is saying and I confirm after looking at my rotors, is that the cross-drilled holes should be going in the other direction. Sweeping up, rather than sweeping down. A positive hypotenuse rather than a negative, if you will. Is that what it's called? A postive hypotenuse??

Congrats on the car.
On a down note. $250 to swap the rotors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This sickens me, and I mean it.
First time I attempted this was trackside at 7 am. I changed front rotors and pads in an hour. Unless I get about 5 good references I won't let anyone touch my car other than myself. Sorry to be such a cynic but seems time and time again shops gouge for such minor work.
I don't mean this as an insult but please check w/ the board before getting any work done, at least for fair pricing and time alotments. At least, if you don't want to DIY, you will be armed with some knowledge concerning the job before heading to the shop.
Enjoy the ride!

Wow... thanks everyone, this is a great board... I've heard over the years that a lot of activity and knowledge resides here. I’m looking forward to being a part of the 993 community and know I will learn a lot about these cars.
UPDATE: Car is scheduled to be picked up for transport today and should arrive late Sunday.
Once the car is safely in my garage there will be more pictures at that time - although to those of you who are super sleuths on this board - will recognize this car as it is not new to you... only that I am new to the car.
1st lesson
ROTORS: Chris’s rotor observation raises a question for me regarding these. Being new to cross drilled rotors, is the direction of the cross drilled holes critical to their function of brake cooling or merely aesthetic in nature?

I'm just back from a golfing trip to Canada to learn that my new 993 didn't ship unitl Saturday night. What a bummer, as I was hoping to receive her tonight.
Most likely will finally get to see her in person for the first time Tuesday evening, if I had to guess.
To Father of 3 you're spot on. I'm the new owner of Jdoc's car. For those of you who have not seen or know of this car... this is a very fine example of MY95... here it is being loaded on its journey to its new home in my garage![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

Tony,
Thanks, as I'm sure many on this forum know this car is nicely outfitted and will be a thrill to drive (though not nearly that as driving your car)
