Well... I went by and saw Rufus painted up. The bumpers aren't painted yet, but the car looks great. I forgot my camera, so I borrowed the shop camera and took a few pictures. They will email them to me tomorrow, and if they're ok, I'll post them.
The shop is EPR Collision in Camarillo.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. This has been a slow, painful process.

To be fair, my front bumper looks incredible, the fit and finish is fantastic.
that said, it was also installed at the ruf factory.
it seems that the nature of composite materials usually requires extra care and craftsmanship to achieve a precise finish. which is probably the only reason why ruf offers a complete warranty on cars they build ground up.
just my 0.2
cheers

I was at the shop yesterday, and used their camera (I forgot to bring mine) to get a few shots after painting. The car is not yet buffed out, the bumpers will be painted tomorrow, and they're saying I can pick it up on Friday. I'm not going to hold my breath.
SuperYellowFly,
Your car is so amazingly awesome. I aspire to get close to that.

Wouldnt it be cool to have shops offer a webcam service, to watch the progress of your car.. On second thought, that might be a bad idea..
Steve, really look forward to RUFUS' completion. If you and CP get together, and have two of these beasts parked next to each other, would one call these RUFI?

I visited Rufus today (Friday... noon). They are assembling the bumpers (lights and stuff), and are ready to pop them on, The rear bumper heatshields don't fit right on the Ruf bumper, and would cover those Ruf vents, so I'm going to install the muffler bypasses now, before they put the rear bumper on. There! My first step towards shedding some "road hugging" weight. I've got a few pictures of the bumpers all painted up (OMG, they look awesome), but I'm at work, and can't post them from here. I'll go back this afternoon (too excited to get any work done anyway) and see if they have any more progress. I may have to sleep there tonight.

Steve,
Muffler bypass... Are the mufflers still in place, or they are gone? If gone, guess you have to hook them all up again each time you need to smog the baby.
Would love to hear the exhaust without the muffler. Quick, hide the women and the children.

CP,
Today, the car has Roock mufflers and Ruf 100 cell cats. It sounds nice, but a bit too quiet for my taste. The muffler bypasses should "stimulate" the auditory experience, so to speak. The mufflers/bypasses have no influence on smog legality... Anything past the cats is free. Also, muffler bypasses can be installed in about 15 minutes! I was going to do this when I got the car home... but would hate to damage the bumper for the lack of heat shields, and its a 5 minute swap with the bumper off the car. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. They will install my newly-acquired Ruf streering wheel for me also. I may have a black c/f wheel (complete with airbag) and a set of Roock Turbo mufflers for sale soon.
