Arrow WANTED: front tow-hook "receiver"

For some strange reason, the front tow hook "receiver" (the threaded part vthat the tow hook threads into) is missing from my straight front bumper reinforcement bar. Porsche sells it as an a$$embly with the front bar... I can't just buy the part I need.

I'm hoping that someone has a crunched-up front reinforcement bar that still has the tow-hook receiver attached that they would like to sell to me. Please. Rufus is about to get reassembled, and I really, really need that part. L.A. Porsche Dismantlers say they have one, but I'm having trouble getting a return call.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.

Faster,

I guess I'll have to wait for you to get back and ship it to me, if you can. Please email directly to me with how much you want for the part: ca993twin@yahoo.com. How is it attached? Riveted? welded? bolted?

Thnaks for helping a fellow Rennlister in need.

Steve

This little receiver piece is just bolted to the large aluminum extrusion. It would save all involved some shipping time and money if you could get just that bolt-on receiver piece.

Chris,

Thanks for the update. Rufus is being reassembled this week, so I'll have to pull the bumper off to install it. I guess that's not a really big deal. Faster... can you send me just the receiver piece? Maybe the hardware too, if you can think of it?

I assume they are the same for TT, then again, maybe this mount is heavier duty for towing a much HEAVIER car

Chris,

Thanks for the generous offer, but I think I'll just wait for Faster to send me his when he gets back. I'd hate to owe you a part that I may have trouble replacing.

But I must say again how amazing this board is for the generous offers and help one receives. I just sent my old ECU to Corto Loco in Panama, while his payment was enroute. I feel like the folks here are like family, and can be trusted explicitly. What a refreshing experience.

Thanks to everyone. And remember... pay it forward.

Rise and live again, eldritch thread!

I purchased a tow-hook-mounted front license plate frame from Rennline only to find ... I am lacking a bolt hole. Apparently, there was some degree of front bumper work that the original owner neglected to mention (much to my chagrin). I'm none too thrilled, but it aligns to spec and I have come to accept my lovely 993 as she is.

Does anyone have a tow hook bolt hole they might be willing to part with?

Thanks for your time!

Josh

Josh,

Good luck finding the part. I was very lucky. Its funny to see this old thread, and to realize that I've owned Rufus for 7.5 years. Time really flies.
