993 Dash Noise
I don't really drive the car much, but I noticed that when you turn the key to accessory mode it sounds like there is a fan going in the dash and remains on after returning from a drive and with the key removed.
Is that normal and is there anything to worry about?

CCU = Climate control unit.
There is a small fan on the back of the unit that cools the electronics.
There are lots of relays and heat dissipating electronics inside the unit that require cooling.
Kinda seems like a band-aid solution, but hey, its part of the charm.

Scott,
not quite.....
The CCU fan actually blows air over a temperature sensor to determine the inside cabin temperature. It does not function as a "cooler" for the internal devices.
Doesn't explain why it (the fan) runs when you turn off, but the CCU also provides control for the rear blower, that does need to run for a period after the engine is switched off to help cool down the engine to save it "heat soaking".
Probably while it's cooling the engine down (by pulling heat away) that the whole CCu unit is active and if your CCU is packed with dust (mine was) or the bearing needs a little light oiling, you here it noticeably running.

Drifting
When I bought my car, I asked myself the same question...turn off the car...go have a beer or two...get back to the garage and the noise will be gone...start the car, turn it off and the noise will reset for another 20 minutes period...quite normal...relax...
