Transmission oil?

This is really funny. I had second gear crunch too. Swepco did NOT fix it, neither did Mobil One. Redline Shockproof saved the day. Funny how different each of our experiences are with the same cars!
Probably more about climate. It is hot here, so that think gooey Shockproof does well. It most certainly would not do well in a cold climate.

Used Mobil 1 75W90 in my '95; worked great. Car has 90K miles on it and no tranny problems.
Now, on my '98 Audi A4 it was a different matter. When I changed tranny oil, same Mobil 1 in there made the tranny feel like it needed replacement; noisy and ground gears real bad. Replacement with Redline 75W90 brought the transmission to feeling great (100K miles on this car). Why the difference I don't know.
