Wow, that was fast. But, considering the condition, your writeup, and the photos, I'm not completely surprised it went so fast.
Now, what should ~we~ buy with this new influx of cash???

The Boxster is better balanced and I like the top operation better BUT the Z3 is a nicer 'cruiser' IMHO. I have the Boxster S as well and I loved the Z3 for totally different reasons. The Z3 is more of a 'sophisticated' Lux convertible with nice german engineering... whereas the Boxster is more of LUX Sport ride. It's difficult to explain.
What does your friend want more? A well balanced car he can take to the track or autocross or a car he can enjoy on long drives. Mind you, BOTH are easily enjoyable on long rides but the Boxster is by far a better autocross or track car than the Z3 on so many levels. The Z3 was never puchased for anything but a cruiser and the thought of an autocross or track event in it never crossed our minds.
The sale proceeds of the Z3 are going in the bank.... a small amount of it is going towards a new winter beater for Eric since the Sentra has been turned into a track beastie and is no longer a viable winter car (and he doesn't want it to rust away in our brutal winter!)
