David,

Nice job. The clear turn indicators look really nice on black cars.

Yes....so much better than the yellow ones.....cant wait to get rid of the old driving lights and replace with the Turbo S ducts and lights, then the front end will look how I want it until I can afford to upgrade to Turbo bumper. The only problem I have with this car is that there are so many upgrades I want to do !!!! I think this is what everybody refers to as the slippery slope!!!

Excellent job!! I was feeling guilty about not calling to come over today but my son was leaving for a week and I wanted to stay at home. I'm glad it all worked out well in the end! Enjoy.

Joe
Dont worry, in the end it was so easy I would have felt guilty getting you over here for something so simple!! Hope you enjoyed the time with your son.

By the way, I took the time to break the seals on my headlight glass and cleaned them,,,,,I was surprised how dirty they were, but now I realize how pitted they are on the outside....anybody know of a good way to "clean"/ "restore" pitted headlight glass

I got new ones at $75/pair. I don't know of a product that will restore pitted glass.
Nice looking light install.

David,
I used 320 then 600 grit wet sanding to remove some pretty deep defects then polished the hazy surface out with a kit I got from Caswellplating.com. It's a kit which includes a felt polishing bob and some cerium oxide polishing compound. It will put a brand new surface on the lenses. I would reccomend either removing the light assembly or heavily masking off the surrounding area as the polishing compound gets sprayed widely as you apply and polish. Good luck with this lighting upgrade!
Dave

ps how do you like your OSRAMs? did you get the silverstar 55w?

Terry where did you get them from and exactly what did you get?

Dave, OSRAMs will be arriving this week...they are the German OSRAM Silverstars 55wat not the US Silverstars....I will post pics before and after I have done the swapout

David, that was the price the body shop got me from whoever supplied them when I had a front end respray. I did not ask. I guess they underpriced them, or passed them along at their cost, or my memory faltered and they were $75 each, or the Euro went up since I bought them. Sorry I can't be of more help.

David,
Just so you won't be too disappointed-I just installed the euro OSRAM 55w silverstars and while they are significantly brighter than the stock bulbs they are not nearly as white or bright as the HIDs. Given the price I still think this was a worthwhile mod.
