Default Arizona Sunday Drive - Sunday August 14th NOW WITH PICS

It's time for another drive through the desert and into the AZ mountains. Last time we had a nice drive to Roosevelt Lake.

Meet at CUPZ coffee house located at 136th and Via
Linda in Scottdale at 8 AM. We will depart at approx.
8:30 AM and drive. We will be home before noon. We will most likely divide into two groups: those who like a spirited pace and those who want a cruise. We will decide on a meeting place halfway.

To get to CUPZ from the 101, take the Shea Blvd. exit
and go east. Turn left onto 136th Street. Go several
blocks to the 4 way stop. Go straight through the
intersection and a strip center is on the right. CUPZ
is in the center of the strip.

Please bring your Talkabout if you have one. If not most of us have an extra.

Please pass this on to any Porsche fan.

Email me if you have any questions.

Looks like I won't make it. Wife wanted to do the PCA drive instead.

Maybe next time.

I don't blame your wife. See you another time. The troops get restless every two months, so it seems to happen about that often. Don't worry, I won't schedule one on a track day!

Beautiful drive, pics, and Ladies! I was surprised that the landscape was so green, I would have expected cactus and desert especially in August. What was the temps and elevation there?

Yep JR, that is a great part of the state. About an hour Northeast of Scottsdale. Very little elevation, maybe 2500-3000'. It is the area around Roosevelt Lake. The road (Beeline Hwy) is a great, curvy canyon road. 4 lane divided highway and is well-maintained.

We got lucky and had cloud cover, and about 85 degrees. It would normally be about 30 degrees warmer. It was greenish, but there had been forest fires very close to the pics.

Alan.

Left to right: Anne (non-rennlister 996 Cab.), Al - Mainiac (993 Cab), Girlfriend of Bill Sr. (993 C4S with aerokit), Bill Sr., Me (993 Targa), Jim (what is your user name? 993 Coupe), Dan at Vivid racing (996 coupe modified), Bill - CalvinC4S (C4S with those sweet Ruf wheels), and Michelle - Bill's girlfriend. Whew.
