my .02,
boxters are fun to learn on, extremely managable under most circumstances. very engaging... with managable limits of acceleration and car control. Very obedient very subserviant, loyal and faithful
993tt will certainly be almost as pliable in every situation (minus convertible ) but will challenge you constantly, 993tt will demand your fear and respect. learn to overcome the fear, and she will spend the rest of her lifetime rewarding you. trademark of a legend
boxter and 993tt comparison is like comparing beer and champagne, what do you desire?
just my 0.2

i love my TT and it is a classic. Just remember it is a heavy car and if u track it often, you will have to be a much better driver to use it well as the learning curve in a TT is higher than that in a boxster.
That said, the TT is a great all around car and i will keep mine forever.

Dare I say wait for the Cayman and see if that meets your needs?
While not stupid-fast like a TT, it'll be faster than the Boxster, esp. on the track. The fact that it's a hardtop makes it both track and street practical.
It'll depreciate faster than a TT and won't have the 911 hoity-toityness but it's as close as you can get in crossing the boxster DNA with a 911's.
