This is the reason why I went with the Momo 08 (which is similar to the 07 used in the cupcars) as I intended to track the car a bit this year. The feeling & feedback that this wheel provides is excellent. The only drawback is that the wheel is made of suede so it probably won't last as long the leather surfaced wheels. But, for about $180 you can easily swap out the wheel for a new one when that happens.

Sorry, I meant to post the eBay link but goofed. The auction ended. I see it went for $405. That was an OK price.

I got quoted $485 yesterday but don't know if that was list or what. There are two versions -- an older one with a gold center crest -- quoted $385, and this newer embossed crest version at $485. Personally, I like the embossed version. Perhaps one of the "15% over cost" Porsche parts stores can quote you a good price. The part number on the embossed version is 000-043-161-00-8YR according to the ebay ad.

I my opinion, either of these factory choices are close enough to being reasonably priced that I would consider them over aftermarket options.

If I ever go to the non-AB wheel here's the wheel I'm going to go with.
MOMO Porsche Design by F.A. Porsche

Gotta go with the ARtsy High-Tech Design look.

Don't know for sure Chuck but I think so. I was looking at it for my 1989.

I had the Porsche Design wheel on my old car. It was a nice wheel but it was not as chunky as the OEM. Good thing though was that you could actually see the dials. Now that I have the computer on my car I have it set on digital speedo and I don't have to guess the speed any more!

Cheers,

David

The MOMO PD wheel is more of a designer(concept) type of steering wheel IMO. Definitely not a thick wheel for AX or DE. But you could still use it, it's something different.

I got the RS one from Gert and love it. I also like the Momo 08 wheel.

For a non-airbag wheel, I'd go for the RS wheel from Gert.

Honestly, I'm not crazy about any of the wheels you're looking at, but if I had to make a choice, number four seems tolerable. Can't stand the chrome, Pep Boys job.

My personal favorite is the wheel that comes in the Cup cars, the Porsche Motorsports wheel aka the Momo Mod .07 wheel. Excellent diameter, superb grip, perfect hand placement and just-right looks. Of course, I'm a bit biased:
