What did it take to get them to fit right?

Thanks for the compliment. The fitment wasn't that big of an issue. I personally didn't put them in, as my "Wrench" did it for me. But what I can tell you is that the seats sit a tad bit higher than the originals, and right now they sit a little too far forward (OK if your small like me, I'm 5'8" and can still adjust them further back), but i'm going to adjust them so they move back a little further. I think I just have to drill a couple new holes for that and everything should be perfect.
