Arwin: I agree with you - the Imola Red car looks like a 4 door Porsche to me - totally changes the character of the 740iS!

The only problem is is that there isn't even 1 for sale right now in the US (that I can find) under 50k miles. The one I DID find is 73k miles for $29k. Too many miles, too much money at that mileage. I'm still looking.

Phew...When I first saw your header, I thought you had been in an accident. Glad to know that it was totaled for other reasons. Also, your wife brought you good luck as otherwise, it would've been you more irreplaceable 993.

Dunno if this has been mentioned but ever considered the V8 (E60?) M5? Ok, so it's not exactly a luxo cruiser and only comes in stick but I drove a friend's (which he bought in the USD 40K's) and boy, does that sucker have torque or what?

Thanks Rezal... unfortunately it has to be an automatic as she drives my car occasionally and she won't/can't drive a 6 speed.

I guess it's going to be a while till I find one. If I want Imola Red, it's going to be quite the search!

We both have that problem. My wife won't drive a manual. Good part is that the 993 is for me only. Bad part is that I have some limitations on my daily driver. It kept me from looking at the M5... but the E55 is not a bad compromise! (I prefer the E55.)

Hey Patrick: Your E55 is my dream car, but my budget doesn't even come close to allowing me to drive it...

This is all we can afford, used:

Now, if I could only find one for sale!

Since you have the 993 and the Jag looks like you have time on your side.

Good luck and don't give up! That is one nice ride.

AG Damis: I hear ya. My focus is only on getting an 01 740i Sport now. I keep finding cars with really low miles that are either sold, have a deposit on them, or are $3-5 above market value! I'm not giving up. Driving this white Hyundai Elantra now for 3 weeks is humbling, depressing, and also kind of cool It's great not having to worry about keeping my car clean, the wheels clean, the interior clean, etc... It's totally freeing and I have an extra hour or 2 a week back - time that I used to spend keeping my 740iS clean!

Here's the car I'd like to get, but it's just too high... $38900 is how much I paid for a 2001 740i Sport 17 months ago with only 13k miles on it! Shouldn't this car have depreciated alot since then, plus it's got more than double the miles!
