Default Issues bringing a ROW 993 to US?

A friend of mine is looking for a 993 and I told him about the difference between model years. Money isn't an object for him, he'd like varioram but he doesn't want to deal with check engine light issues. How tough is it to bring a '98 993 into the states that doesn't have OBDII?

Very. I suspect the the EPA will never certify it without OBDII which a requirement for post 95 cars.

I am not sure but starting to suspect that RUF build all their cars US compliant. If so that is the way to go certainly if money is not an issue.

Another thought - would a 95 ROW car have varioram? I know they introduced the 993 in 94 over there so I'm wondering if the second year of the 993 is varioram in all locations.

Varioram started in 96 model year, as did OBD-II.
