Hard time getting Euro bumper. Is that typical?

Hey CP,
Didn't read you had other plans that makes the turbo-look bumper not an option.
Guess I was so happy with the way mine came out I just wanted to share. Good luck on your quest, will be interested to see the final results when you get it completed.

The problem with getting the US bumpers instead of the Euros as ordered is Porsche NA. These bumpers are brought into the US as the standard European models with the European part numbers. THey are then modified (aka ruining the bumper by cutting the slots for the bumperettes) for the US market. The problem is that many times they do not relabel the part with the now correct part number, or the box. The computers, parts pickers, etc think they are all Euro ones on the shelf. So when you order a Euro model, about half the time you get a US bumper.

Update,
Thanks to Glen and Gert, I received an Euro bumper and a FPB today via Fed-X. Took that to the body shop, and it fits like a glove. No bumperette cut-outs either.
Now the car can be reassembled and painted by August 5, 2005. They willl bake the car twice to hasten the curing process. Then they'll assess how much drying time before the clear bra can go on. The soonest will be September, the latest will be November.
In any case, I'll have all my old parts out in 2-3 weeks.
I'm a happy guy.
