Question Another Muffler Question

Did a search on mufflers and did not come up with an answer. Has anyone tried to fabricate a muffler system using Supertrapp mufflers. Seems like you should be able to fabricate a section of pipe from the cat to mate with a Supertrapp. You could then "tune" the noise level to whatever you desired.

Thanks.

You could probably do it, but it will not be pretty. The supertraps will need to protrude much farther from the bumper cover to ensure they don't melt the bumper cover (the exhaust from the supertrap is directed radially instead of straigh back). I had a supertrap positioned a bit too close with my 964 and melted a nice hole in about 20 minutes of driving. Imagine where the ips end now - that would be the closest for the start of the supertrap.

I also think that simply using 2 supertraps will be way to loud for the street and much in excess of the legal limit.

Tom:
I had not thought about the heat issue. I was concerned about how far past the bumper cover the Supertrapps would extend, since they seem to be rather long. Guess I will just continue to wait for my RSRs

Thanks.
