Default WR04 Recall outstanding... What is it for?

Hi;

I did a search but the two posts that talk about this are back in 2003 and are are inconclusive. Has anyone confirmed that this is a vaild recall and if so what is it for? PCNA still shows it as outstanding for my prospective new car, but dealer does not know what it is, and have not yet found any info to help them.

Thought I would check here while I wait...

Cheers;
Eric

If it's a cabriolet, than it could be the roof pins or motors. My Porsche guy at Pfaff couldn't find a record of it.

That said, it could also be the engine harness if it's an early car that you're looking for (1995 through early 1996).

Nevermind the engine wiring harness recall. That one is actually W301. If you want, PM me the VIN and I'll have my guy at Pfaff run it for any known recalls that haven't been done.

Hi Alon;

Thanks for the offer I'll PM you to see if they know anything my dealer doesn't (its possible!).

Basically I had my dealer run the VIN and it came back that WR04 was outstanding but they have not been able to get an answer as to what WR04 is!

Anyone have an idea? Its an early 1995 coupe...

Cheers;
Eric

I got your PM Eric but I'll be out of town tomorrow and Thursday and may not get to call the dealer (who is closed by now). Can it wait until Friday or is this urgent to you? Alternatively, feel free to contact Dirk Dunschede (in service, he's a tech) at Pfaff Motors (905-851-0852) and tell him that I referred you to him and provide him your VIN. He'll do a search on the car's VIN and see what they come up with.

No sweat Alon, it can wait until Friday (or whenever you have the chance). My dealer is being unresponsive so hopefully Pfaff will have a better luck telling me whats been done and whats outstanding in terms of the recalls on this car.

My biggest concern is to make sure the wiring harness recall has been done.

Cheers;
Eric

OK, this is apparently an "Improvement campaign on the engine cover".

Anyone have this done or know what it is now?

Eric
