Default Now I know what I want - 95 with softback sport seats <20k mls...

Still looking for the perfect car but I love the softback sports seats in my RSA and I'm told they were sold in the 95 as an option.

My perfect car would be a 95 with less than 20 miles and the softback sport seats. Does anyone know where or who has such a car in the US? I'd like to make contact with them.

I've trolled the classified everywhere and all the usual places without luck to date. I know this could take a while.

Thanks in advance.

It might be hard to find, since so few people would know to specifically advertise "softback sport seats". Heck, i'm on my 2nd 993, one had hardback sport seats, one is a 1995, yet even *I* don't really know what you're referring to!! I think maybe the side bolsters extend a little further forward, no? Good luck.

I believe soft back sport seats were available very early in the 1995 993 production run. My 12/94 build 993 had the hard back variety.

Yes they were on the early production run ( built in early 1994). Check in Germany as well you might be able to locate there a pair easier.

Finding your (10 year old) dream car optioned just the way you would have ordered it from the factory is a tall order. You might want to consider finding the right car and adding the options that you desire. Besides then you get to have the fun of the DIY experience.
Good luck and tell us what you find!

Option codes M383 and M387 (left and right) according to PET.

Here's the rub.... a black all leather version with no heat, lists for $8600 EACH on Pelican.

That's like half the car just for seats!!!!

There's a photo of the softback sport on page 2 of this post - https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...port+seats+964

I know it's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack - that's why it's fun.. I could add from another car but then it wouldn't be original and I like my cars as they left the factory.

The 95 Riveara Blue that was at RPM had them that that's the only car i've seen.

I know you're out there somewhere..... Come to Daddy..

I had the softback sport seats in my '85 Carrera and thought they werre great and very supportive for track driving. I agree with the others; finding it may be a tall order, especially if you're looking for a perfect car with a perfect set of seats. Most owners had keisters that would hit the bolsters, causing excessive wear.

Good luck!

Those seats shown with the horizontal ribbing are the available sports seats on early 968's. Later 968 sport seats came with the curved ribbing as found on 993's. The seats are direct bolt on replacements and are identical. I have the 993 type sport seats in my car. (So you can hunt around the dismantlers and ask for those, but the dismantler's usually know that they fit both models and you won't get a deal, but you can try).

Ah, I man who knows his seats.....

I've got em in my 1995 (52K mile garage queen). I looked high and low for these seats (perfect leather) because IMHO they offer superior support than the later hardback seats.

Not that I'm serious about selling my car, but the 997S does look appealing. I can email you pics of the seats (and maybe the car) if you'd like. My email address is jmarch68@yahoo.com.
