I want (OK -- "need" -- so I'm a junkie
) to get some of those cool looking after-market stainless door sills. Can anyone help with advice re: these and/or pics of them installed. Any likes or dislikes about the products, quality or price of those available out there? I have a C2 cab and think I would like 'em etched with "993" or "Carrera".
TIA,
Scott

Have you considered the original equipment stainless sills offered by Porsche? They will cost a more, however they were designed for the car, have the correct logo, and are high quality. You can get very competitive prices from some dealers. I have found Sunset Porsche (800)346-0182 (Phil) and Brandywine Porsche 877-666-2884 (Ralph) to offer the lowest prices, however I am sure there are others who do so as well.
FYI, you may find removing the old sills and preparing the surface difficult. Getting the enough of the old glue off the painted car sill surface to get the stainless plate to lay flat and tight with the car can be a pain. Check the achives as it has been covered before.

p-car covers the removal very well as part of the DIY section. I have used the ones from this guy -944nut@comcast.net - three times...951, 968 and now my 993....they are 0n 24 gauge SS and the coating he uses is very scratch resistant....he will send you photos if you email him....his name is harvey

yah, I hear you re: getting the old glue off -- I've actually seen the DIY on p-car.com. Thanks for the suggestion on the OEM ones -- I'll call around and check them out. My seach here for "door sill" in the 993 forum thread titles only came up with 3 threads -- 2 of which were pretty old.

Thanks for the source -- I'm going to shoot him an e-mail and check out what he has available for the 993. I appreciate your input -- I definitely do not want something cheap, or which is overall poor quality that will scratch up real easy.

I got mine from Elke and am happy with them. Took several weeks for delivery, but the price and quality are great.

Thanks for the input -- does Elke offer to etch anything on them? If so, may I ask what you opted for? Did you install them yourself?

Here are the OEM Aluminum door sills. I got them from www.derpartshop.com. You can also check with www.sunsetimports.com
The P-car.com DIY is helpful. I used the 3M Adhesive Remover to remove the glue. Let the Adhesive remover soak onto the glue for ahwile; it will make the removal A LOT easier.
