I personally prefer this one...holds two cups and folds flat when not in use.

Jason:

Do you have info on the manufacturer and where to get one like yours?

Thanks.

Michael, it's a VW Jetta part fits perfectly on to the carpet rail...no drilling.
part# 3A1862531-01C I think I paid around $50.

Yes, it was Jeff I believe his name was (hope I didn't screw that up) who is a Rennlsiter that developed it. It is an excellent cupholder; the best one avail, IMHO.

It is rock-solid when mounted, and yet screws onto the seat rail in literally 15 seconds. You can "flip it", too, if you want one on the other seat rail (I have two, one for wife). Comes off just as fast if you need to move the seat fully forward. Leaves absolutley no marks or holes. Absolutely steady with the heaviest drinks since the container rests on the floor (where the plastic VW one is weak, IMO). It holds large containers steady, even those supe- big cups with the slender bottom made for cupholders (again, where the VW one falls short since the body fits against the tunnel, limiting the overall diameter of the cup you can put in it). And it is visually nearly invisible. I highly recommend this one.

I rarely use mine but have to agree it is a quality product. Not cheap, but it is good

I have both and I find that I wanted them alot more than I use them. Rarely do I end up wanting something in my hand when I am driving the car. Of the two I ended up keeping the aluminum one in the car as I was afraid that the Jetta one would harm the carpet or fall off.

You know, I designed the Air-1 cup holder because I had a horrendous commute and needed somewhere stable yet discreet to put my drinks but, looking at that fifth of scotch, jamie022’s workweek must be a hell of lot worse than I ever could imagine.

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying my design! Thanks.

Hey Jef, will these fit on the seat rails of 360? Mine is in the shop just now, supposed to be out 2morrow. If so, perhaps you should post a link (or I could) in the thread on F-chat relative to cupholders.

Bringing this thread back to comment on Jef's customer service.

My dopey stereo installers (are there any other kind?) bent the screw on my cupholder and I emailed Jef and asked him to get me a price on a replacement screw.

His response was not to worry about payment and that he'd send one out pronto.

How's that for customer service?

Thanks, man.

where did you have your stereo installed? Why would you make such a rude statement about stereo installers?...What do you do for a living?

Sorry if you're a stereo installer - my comment wasn't directed toward you.

I don't install stereos for a living, however, if I did, I wouldn't rip out my customer's cupholders without first trying to figure out how they were installed. I'd do the job in the time-frame promised and I wouldn't scratch my customer's car.

Why didn't you just install the stereo yourself?......It seems you know what to do.
