Looking for 1995 Riviera blue or 1996 Blue Turquoise
Dear Rennlisters,
Although I'll be flying overseas next week and I'll be there for a couple of weeks, I don't want to lose any opportunities to find my car...anybody will be able to reach me at: pedro@importstones.com
Looking for 1995 Riviera blue (preferable) or 1996 Blue Turquoise (Not Turquoise Metallic!) 993.
Body style: Any body style as long as the color is correct. I prefer a stock looking car with no external mods.
Tranny: 6 speed tranny (no tip)
Mileage: Less than 60k mi (preferable but I'll consider all cars in good condition)
Price: I'm prepared to pay the fair price according to condition and mileage. I really want to buy a car with these features but I can't and I'll not pay an exagerate premium price to get it. If you want to part with your car, I'm in the market to pay the fair price for both of us...if you "might" be willing to sell your car depending on how much I'd be willing to overpay in order to compensate your "pain", forget about it... I'm not the guy for you...
PS. I'd like to thank you guys for all the help, good leads and camaraderie I have been receiving in this forum...thanks for your kindness...

You're stuck on Riviera Blue? Not too many of those around. As I'm sure you know, Riv, being flat, is almost as bad as black when it comes to swirling. I've seen a few of them and they look like ****e unless they've had obsessive PO's.
Have you given any thought to buying the car you want and doing a complete respray? Certainly not the same as finding the perfect car of your dreams, but, I mean, come one - does your dream car even exist? Just a thought.
In any case, good luck with your quest. Riv is a strikingly beautiful color.

Hi Doug...I know the "Minichamps" model you are talking about...nice...
Hi Jamie...I'll be "stuck" for some time as I'm a romantic regarding the P. cars...I have the feeling that a very nice Riviera is waiting for me out there...
Take care...

It would be interesting to find out how many Riviera blue cars were produced. I assume a couple of hundred, maybe? It must have been a brave move to order a new 993 in this colour.
When 993 was introduced, there were some magazine articles showing demo/test car(s) in this hue.
It really is a love/hate colour, mostly people I´ve met just love it and I haven´t heard any negative comments yet. Though I think that those who don´t say anything are not too keen on it...
P.S. Three different interior colours (black, pale grey, dark blue) were available. Ideally which interior colour and body style would you prefer?
P.S.2 I haven´t noticed the Riviera blue being particularly prone to swirlmarks.

Nope
Mine´s the only Riviera 993 I´ve seen in flesh and I haven´t ever even seen a pic of a Riviera Targa.
When 993 Targa was current, Riviera wasn´t a regular colour any more, although naturally for extra cost (colour to sample) it was available.
But I believe that Blue Turquoise Targas might be out there??
There are certainly people who are prepared to pay extra for this extraordinary colour, I´ve seen Riviera Boxster and 996 for sale in Britain and a rumour tells about a Riviera Carrera GT too...
If I was buying a new 997, I´d certainly have it in Riviera
Don´t give up, I´m sure you will find a nice Riviera 993 to keep forever!

My mistake Mika...you are totally right...I actually meant "Blue Turquoise" Targa...the 1996 color...not the Turquoise metallic...the solid color is quite similar to the Riviera blue and was available in 1996...I've never seen a Blue turquoise Targa as well though!
Riviera blue was available just for 1995 model year...thanks for the correct info! ;-)
