Pedro,
I'm sure if you want a "good" condition, mid mileage (50-60k miles) '96 Cab like you mentioned in your post, you should be able to find one for the mid $30's like you said. That's about what they're selling for (35k to 37k).
If what you really want is an "excellent" car with no paintwork, no mechanical or any other issues, and one with lower miles (say 20-45k), prepare to pay more. Good 993's are getting harder and harder to find.
I'm planning on selling my highly upgraded, pristine condition '96 Cabriolet, and just actually listed it today here and on Pelican Parts and on the PCA Board. With over $15k in modifications (HRE wheels, 993 Turbo front bumper, Aerokit side skirts, 993 Turbo front and rear sway bars, H&R springs, Bilstein HD shocks, Rennline front strut brace, powdercoated calipers and engine components, and a "killer" stereo system), you could buy my car for only a bit more than a normal "good" car brings with minimal to no upgrades.
Good luck in your search.

Pedro:
Be sure to place this post in the Rennlist "Wanted" forum - perhaps you have. Maybe Alan, a/k/a mmblu, will part with his if you can't locate one by August. Good luck.

Wow...I just got back from short trip and found tons of help...I really appreciate...
Hi Danny...the Salt Lake city car is gone and the "British" one scares me due to currency exchange and logistic involved...great find though!
Hi Mike...your car is gorgeous but I have to try the Riviera/turquoise a little more...
Hi MikeAlwaysWins...I saw this one already (Autotrader) but tiptronic is not "my cup of tea"...thanks for your help my friend...
Hi Steven...I posted at the "Wanted forum" already...regarding mmblu (Alan)...I recently read a posting at the "Who has the most beautiful car here" thread where he clearly states he has no intention whatsoever to sell his baby! I'd love to find his car's twin brother! ;- )
Thanks a lot for your time, help and camaraderie...

Hey Pedro, you are welcome
According to our resident expert in gearboxes, Chris W, a tip is an easy conversion to 6 speed. maybe you can pick it up cheap to offset the cost of a gearbox. Think of it for a nice way to go straight into a G50/21 gearbox , RS clutch and flywheel, things that you will do in the future anyway hanging around here
