Default 993 suspension options

Does anyone have any thoughts on changing out the oem suspension on a 1996 993 Cab? I have heard that the factory row springs/shocks and the H & R sport springs are both very good. Any differences between the two? Has anyone used either/both? Recommedations? Thanks Phil '96 Cab

Hi Phil:

You'll find a LOT of opinions on this subject and you should take a short cruise through the archives (Search) to scan a few.

The choice really depends on what you want and how you drive the car.

Given the poor quality of the OEM Monroe shocks and their short life, I will tell you that most folks here use either H&R springs or ROW M030 springs with Bilstein HD shocks.

The H&R's will lower the car a bit more than M030 so consider that as part of what you are trying to do.

Is there much of a ride difference between the H& Rs and the ROWs? I mainly use it for street use. Thanks phil

H&R's ALONE probably won't work that great. They didn't for me anyway. They lowered the car but with stock (junk) shocks and sway bars (soft) their performance was not what I was hoping for.
I am very hapy with my complete M030 RoW kit that I got from Gert at www.carnewal-europe.com
