According to Porsche option code listing, M018 was a "Sports Steering Wheel with Elevated Hub 30mm"...

as i look at the options list, i see three (3) OEM factory options for steering wheels on our cars...

M018 - Sports Steering Wheel with Elevated Hub 30mm
M433 - Leather Steering Wheel Atiwe
M435 - Leather Steering Wheel Momo

I am still on the hunt for a replacement to my 4-spoke, and like the idea of doing something that was an original option... if anyone can comment on any of these, pics, etc. I would appreciate it.

thanks!

From my experience, option code 018 pertains to the steering wheel most common on the 3.2 Carreras of the mid to late 80's. I know it applies to the 87-89's and probably applies to the 85 and 86's as well. While it appears to be an option, all the 3.2 cars that I have seen have the "raised hub" wheel. It's the wheel with the rectagular insert with the 'Porsche" lettering and 4 short spokes at the corner locations and the thin leather rim.

The raised hub part of the option adds a longer hub that brings the wheel closer to the driver.
