"The Troll" joineth Rennlist
I thought this a good time to introduce myself... My name is Greg, I'm 24. I love old Pcars. I don't like the new ones.
I have no money, (it's all in my 993), I can't afford to race - so I just track my car as often as possible. I have sacrificed food money for tires, brake pads and maintenance more times than I can count
I currently drive a '95 993, basically stock except for heavy-*** turbo twist 18s and H&R springs (still feels like a cadillac). The 993 is a great 911, but way too easy to drive and not edgy like the old cars - when I can afford it I'm getting a 930 track car (or maybe throw some Motons and a TT motor in my 993
)... I've enjoyed reading many of your thoughts and opinions over the years, Rennlist is a great community. I know a lot about Porsches, but I can always learn something new cruising around the forums. 993 board especially. So, to all of you, thanks for your contributions - you are the reason I joined.
If any of you are ever down at Sebring, I'm always happy to meet fellow enthusiasts. Look for the black 993 passing everyone

By the way, if someone can tell me how to upload some pictures, I have some good ones.

Are you just completely unwilling to EVER play nice? You seem like you want to be part of the gang, but immediately start attacking 996+ owners. I mean, can't you just quit being a punk long enough to make ONE post??
Welcome to Rennlist, glad to have ya. PLEASE just try to tone down the offensiveness so we can keep this forum civil.
Also, I think new members often have difficulty including pics until the whole member thing gets sorted out. So don't fret it yet.

Still haven't gotten my membership details by email, how long does it generally take?

Self censorship of this kind will killl this forum - don't hold back, tell us what you think - just make sure it is constructive.
For example, I am very interested in a 996tt x-50, would you discourage me from considering it based on your experience?
Welcome

As for the X50 TT, I would say that is a different animal than a 996. The TT motor is based off the old bottom end (same block as GT3), which is true dry sump, stronger internals, etc. Unfortunately I've never had the experience to drive one, so I can't give a good opinion overall. I believe the gearbox in the TT is also pretty decent, as opposed to the 996 box which is pretty cheap.
Not a fan of AWD myself, but I've seen some mildly prepared TT X50s at Sebring, very quick in hands of an decent driver. As for the "driving experience," I can't comment.
