anyone done the 964RS steering rack mod out there?
As I continually look for ways to waste money 
I have given some consideration to changing out the steering rack. I know that I would certainly like the 964 (993RS) rack more than my current OEM one. But I really think that the manual 964 rack may be the way to go.
I am willing to trade steering effort while parallel parking for a significantly better steering feel during performance driving. I have driven an '88 911 before and loved the manual steering but I wonder how much different it would be with a heavier car and wider tires. Never driven a 964 so am not sure how much different it feels than the 911.
Has anyone had specific experience with this mod on their 993?

I did it with the power 964 rack -- no significant difference in turning radius or feel. I might have saved a few bucks, but the tighter feel I was hoping for did not occur.

Kim's "yellow zonker" I believe has this mod. I also think Kim said he would not do it again. You should PM him (Wreck Me Otter).
A 964 C2 feels about the same as a 993 C2 as it also has power steering. The RS America or the RS had manual racks.
