It's a 2S. The 2S had 17" cup wheels standard, the split grill, the "aluminum look" gearshift, and the "Carrera S" logo on the back just like this car has. The 4S came standard with Turbo twist wheels, regular black grill, standard looking leather gearshift/boot with titanium shift pattern insert and Carrera 4S logo on back.

Saw this 97' C2S with "tip" for sale. 24,000 miles, turbo s ducts, tail, CF interior. No affiliation, he's asking $48k. Looks nice in the pics, SoCal car. Have additional pics if interested.
