Sorry to those who would like this all to just go away, but my prediction a few weeks ago is holding true so far. Here's why...

This “war” will never really end until the truths comes out, and that will never happen. What truths? The truth about who is hiding behind an alias and using it to flame others. The truth about why Viken is no longer moderator, no longer posting on Rennlist and the relationship between that and the others who have left Rennlist. We will never know these things so the suppositions will continue.

Here are some truths we do know:

Truth: Alan was flamed, repeatedly for what some assumed was an ulterior motive for posting a huge commercial across the pictures he posted. “Foul” cried some; “a violation of the Rennlist Charter” cried others. They hi-jacked a thread and persisted in this complaint even after John D. stated that it was a non-issue. Yet the fact is the accusations about Alan’s intentions continue. So be it, that’s on you – you know who you are.

Truth: The “Sad end to a Rumble” thread was hi-jacked by flamers. One solution proposed by the flamers and others was that Alan should take his photos and post them on his own site. Personally, I didn’t like the idea because part of the fun is in sharing the photos and discussing them. Alan did as was suggested in a way that gives those of us who want to chat about them a place to do it, sheltered from the flamer and hi-jackers.

Truth: Now Alan is being flamed for letting everyone know that he has done what was suggested as a solution to the problem, and again, the flamers find fault.

Truth: If John D. felt that Alan’s post was inappropriate, he could have removed it. Just because you think it's wrong, dosn't make it wrong.

Truth: Alan never suggested that anyone bail on Rennlist, has never said anything negative about Rennlist, or done anything to undermine the integrity of Rennlist. On his site, he encourages everyone to continue to participate, support and use Rennlist.

Truth: Those of you who persist in fanning the flames and then lament, “Why can’t we all just move on and keep Rennlist the sanctuary that it is” need to make up your minds and see the truth of the effects that you are having on this community.

Fact: The flaming hi-jackers behavior eventually got the better of me and I dropped some F-Bombs. In all of my posts, I have done so twice. To those I offend by the use of such language, I understand your concern and I will remain sensitive to your experience of seeing such language. Yet, instead of any empathy for the frustration that others and I were experiencing, you lump me/us into a new group of illiterate members who have to stoop to such vulgar language. How arrogant. How insensitive.

Truth: The outrage over Alan’s motives and actions (even in the face of John D’s sanction) far outweighs the outrage of the member flaming, thread hi-jacking, alias-hiding Rennlist participants. What does that tell you about the direction the culture of this board is going? That is the cause of this problem, that’s why it won’t stop.

Truth: When I was flamed in my own thread by one of these "terrorists" everyone did the right thing and just ignored it, including me. John D. did the right thing by removing the post. But when an esteemed, respected, long time member and typically constructive member such as Mike, starts it up again, and then Danny (who in my mind holds the same stature on the board) jumps on Mikes band wagon, a response is called for.

I post this not to continue the conflict, just to set the record straight.

Fred, that was clarity of thought. I'm impressed. It takes alot more to offend me than cursing for God's sake. Hypocrisy, disrespect and elitism tend to rub me wrong more than a warranted F bomb....

Greg, sure, thanks for the acknowledgment. Others should do the same. EJ was insistent that he be responded to, and when I did in a thoughtful, clear and non-hostile way - his only way out was to either acknowledge the truth of what I was stating or quit.; he chose to quit Rennlist. Go figure.

The war will never end. This is the reason why. Read this paragraph over and over below...

The Administrative powers that are still here (and have left) were deceitful with flaming and excommunicating PAYING members to this board. They would take their money and then give these new supporting members a high public dosage of hypocrisy, disrespect and elitism! Nice way to treat people that support their board.

Shame on you idiots...Very bad business!! Watch out...Bad Karma has a way of finding people that do that kind of stuff!

Greg/Danny, is there a reason why when Mike inflames the board, reopens old wounds it's ok with you, or at least you post no objection, but when I respond to them you tell me to let it go? What am I missing? The absense of a response from either of those two in noticable. And I take no credit for EJ's departure, I simply noted that he put up a big fight, took a dramatic stand, ala Mike and Danny, and then when responded to in an appropriate way - he bolted.

Anyway, as has been confirmed by others, I've set the record straight, I'm moving on. Hope to see you all on another thread, under better circumstances.
