Hi, Vesuvius (L40X ) was a special edition colour available just for C2S. It has a deep purple flip under certain lighting conditions. Also the door mirrors, handles and rear spolier grill were painted steel grey rather than body colour.

Nice buy, hope you enjoy it - those 996 Wheels really do suit the car with the big reds. Its amazing how different the colour looks in different light, purple, grey/gray, almost black at night...sweet.

Rear wiper & big reds? Were these options for the C2S or modifications? Interesting how there are so many flavors of the S model.

Thanks guys, I still haven't got over the honeymoon period, always turing back to look at it afterI have parked it ! I was looking for a dark metallic wide body Carrera but most I came across were silvers and the less subtle colours. I hadn't seen or heard of Vesuvius either before I saw this one.

Yes Burnham, it turn into a Black car at night, dark purple when its overcast and metalic grey under the sun.

dgetz993, the rear wiper was an option, also the high level brake light. The AeroKit II front bumper and Big reds were added later together with a strut brace.

Great car, where do most LHD Porsches originate from when sold on the UK-market, Italy?
