Rick,

I am sorry to hear that. How did they arrive at the $6750 deductible. I would have that it would have been $9k. We're you ok after such a crash? What does a car with $26K worth of damage look like?

Anyone know what Mercury's policy is? If not, I'll go look it up... think it helps if you get the event organizers to claim it was an instructional event.

I don't know how they arrived at that ded., but it's some function of insured value and number of track days. I walked away from it and was even able to limp the car to the shop 100 miles away. But it was bent up pretty bad. I'll post photos later when I get t my other computer, but they're not nearly as bad as it looked up close.

Slapshot, i spoke with both my insurance carriers, Farmers and AAA. Farmers said no way is ANY type of track event covered, unless your just there watching a race. But if that car is on the track for any reason, no coverage. AAA (calling the main number) said i would be covered, as long as it was not timed, and no racing was involved. I had to explain what a Drivers ed event was, but they said it would be. Somehow, i doubt it....

C4bliss,

Do not doubt it my friend that is the ticket. But make sure it is on your policy and stated clearly. Come claim time (I hope not) the policy is what counts! This is why the PCA goes through the trouble of calling them DE events.
