nope - Mine was (a long time ago now!) a standard C2S on Cup wheels - i believe 25mm spacers are on the back. I had 4mm shaved off them after I added my Roock wheels to compensate for the rubbing. If the car exists(!), PPI it, sounds nice.

The Cup wheels were standard and, I believe, had factory installed spacers. I don't think the Cup wheels were made in wide body offsets. The optional 18" Turbo Technology wheels available for the C2S were hollow spoke (unlike the standard wheels on the C4S) and proper wide body offset.

The shifter, handbrake, and door sills are standard C2S. They are not quite the aluminum versions the seller thinks they are but do resemble them -- so the seller can be forgiven for his inaccuracy.

47K is a good price?

Maybe I am undervaluing my '96 C2, which I figure is worth $33K with 37K miles.

Nevertheless, I don't get too hung up about low mileage as it is only worth 10% extra in my opinion. The car is still almost 8 years old. Under-driven cars seem to have their own issues, too.

It will be interesting to watch the auction, but eBay is historically a great place to spend more for something than it is generally worth. Bid fever does some strange things to people. Everybody wants what they can't have.

Could be a good car, but too many people know about it, so you will have a harder time getting a good price. Then again...

Price sounds about right iffin PPI checks out. I got mine 9/04 at $43K with 70K miles but otherwise pristine cosmetically and mechanically (except for needing a round of brake rotors).

Good luck on your 993 hunting.
Regards, Gary

The posting has been deleted due to error by the seller. What is that all about?

I agree with many not to be too skeptical -- personalities and ways to advertise are what they what -- different amongst us. If its what you're into, then have it checked out by a good shop and go for it.

It may not mean anything but....the speedometer has been removed and re-inserted.

If you look at the pcitures, it doesn't line up right. Look at the position of the needle with reference with the tach needle. You better make sure that the odometer wasn't rolled back a few miles. Carfax could help on that, but ultimately, check the screws behind the speedometer; they have a tamper proof coating on them so you can tell if someone opened it.

It sure looks very good...maybe too good to be true?

Are you sure? I was just there...it says that bidding had ended on this item. Maybe someone bought it outside of ebay or they realized that their reserve was too low?

my opinion ---

If this car is legit, it is a steal at the price. Of course, we all tend to over-value our own cars, but I can tell you that I would not consider selling my 98 C2S for less than $50k. Recently I received an offer for that amount from a dealer, so I suspect that I would get considerably more selling privately. My car has almost 35k miles on it now and less equipment than this car on ebay.

The car has been relisted with this comment
"The reserve has been set at 47,500.I am entertaining reasonable offers over 50,000. While I am not the original owner, I have not registered the vehicle since obtaining ownership 2 days ago and am only looking to sell the car. The next buyer will be the 2nd owner of the car. "

A clean and low mileage 1998 C2S still commands well in excess of $60K retail....and shows no evidence of dropping.

I think there's a typo in the ad. They probably meant to say, "One 7-year owner." Since the car is a '98, then that could make sense.

I concur with Jonathan, it is a steal. He and I were looking at the same time last year. I looked very extensively for 6 months.

The Technology wheels are common on the C2S's but were a $1,700 option.
