Default Gone to the dark side...

Well, it's official, I've gone water cooled. Picked up my 'new' 996 tonight - an arctic silver '99 Carrera. As I posted a month ago, my beloved 993 met an unfortunate and untimely end when some punk kid pulled out in front of me in mommy's Benz.

Positives - butt dyno says the car is faster than the 993. Better stereo. More luggage space. 100k fewer miles than the 993 had.

Negatives - no air-cooled smell! Missing the growl of the 993 motor. The 3.4 has a turbine-like whine. Still cool, but different.

Anyway, I'm left with a fresh DME relay that I had purchased as a spare after the original failed in the 993. Will send to a rennlister who needs a spare for the cost of shipping. PM me.

Congrats on you new ride.
I bought an 01 C2 to replace the 88 Turbo I reluctantly sold.
Missed the old car so much had to buy a 993 C4S. Hope this
doesn't happen to you but two p-cars in the garage isn't all
bad.

FYI - DME relay is spoken for.

OG - Yeah, I pretty much never listen to the stereo, but it is slightly better in the 996. I imagine the GT3 is a bit throatier than the 3.4.

Yeah... I'll just have to figure out how to get that second porsche thing past the wife unit in a couple years.

Surprisinigly, the first thing she said when I brought the new car home was that she liked the looks of the 993 better, even though she referred to it either as "the batmobile" or "the schoolbus".

Or, should we call it the humid side?
