Default Tach Rotation

Anybody here rotate their tach so that redline is at 12:00?
If so...how did you do it? I do not have the OBC.
I have done it on my race bikes....think it would look cool
in the P-car as well.
Forced my old "Lazy Bones" to do a search and
there was one post that said the tach could be rotated by hand.
Anyone care to comment/advise
Thanks!

this will explain how to remove the gauges. Just adjust the tach to whatever position you want.

I have done this on my older Porsches, but not on the 993. If the 993 gauges are the same as the older 911's, then all you need it a flat tip screwdriver covered by some duct tape. Wedge it in behind the bezel gasket and turn it so the gauge starts coming out. Wiggle it most of the way out, rotate and push it back in. I've done this while sitting at a red light before. It's that easy.

I just did mine Sunday. I took an old credit card and cut it up into small strips. I then wedged two strips, one on top of the other, under the rubber on one side of the tach. Once they were under there, I took a flathead screwdriver and pried up the tach. Then did the same on the other side. Once I got it loose, it was easy to turn and put back in. Good luck!

Sorry- put the flathead screwdriver between the two pieces of card to keep from scratching anything.

FWIW... get to 'know' redline by the sound of the engine, then you don't even need to look down.

LOL
