how would one go about adding the motor sound option if the car is not so equipped, and is it worthwhile, should i go after-market instead, what is the price quality ratio versus aftermarket. thx glenn

I think Gert has the air box covers. But I got mine from AJUSA a couple years ago . Others more knowledgable than I may know for sure but I believe exaust tips and mufflers were a part of the package(s) also.
Good luck in your search....embrace the slippery slope. It is your friend.

Motorsound is overrated... not that it is bad, its just that it could be better. Aftermarket options are preferable to motorsound IMO. Do a search, exhaust or mufflers on this 993 board.

Good Luck

Glenn, factory installed M159 included mufflers. Your best bet is to get Robin's RSR's and the M159 air filter cover. Robin's mufflers would be a lot cheaper than the actual M159 OEM mufflers new.

Viken is right on...however if you insist on Motorsound mufflers, LA Porsche Dismantlers sell them for about $300 a pair, NOT including the sound package tips.

The Motorspond muffler and airbox combo sounds good at the track with a helmet on...but then again, so do the RSRs. Have a listen to both...noting that not all RSRs sound the same. They seem to get a wee bit louder (better in my opinion) with age.

I have a set of Motorsound on the car now...definitely quieter than RSRs..good for me, I am now in my stealth mode, complete with the front license plate re-mounted.

Welcome to the slippery slope...you be down here soon enough!

RSR's and drill big holes in your box.
