My First Mod.......Silver Coated Ceramic Exhaust Tips
Here we go again.....down the slippery slope..... As if I didnt learn with the Harley *****, on the left of the Silver Bullet.
The best $40.00 that I spent in a long time
I should have taken the whole exhaust out....maybe next time.
I think they can do it in almost any color, I will actually call and find out and post the findings.
Cheers to all, its Dinner Time.

Next is the busted spoiler wall, not a Mod but a DIY, suspension changes look very tempting....we will see, I need a local Rennlister to drive it and give me some impressions on the clutch, I had my BMW mechanic tell me that the black crap on the Air Filter is an indication of a clutch wearing out.
On my first oil change I changed the busted flex hose that feeds air to the clutch.
Maybe a LWFW Clutch....scary thought

Very nice looking tips.
He is right if he means wearing out v. worn out. As the clutch is used, the clutch dust gets vented to the air filter.

I had the Tips done by TopGun Coatings in Calgary Canada, 40.00.
I removed the tips myself and re-installed them.
Removing them may require some heat to expand the metal in case the metal may have joined together because of rust, only one needed heat.
A plumbers torch will do, or have a mufller shop remove them, but the money they charge is enough to buy the plumbers torch, the problem in having a shop removing them is the time it takes to go to the shop, where if you do it its after work.

Can you explain what we are looking at? I haven't heard of this being done before. It looks great in the low sun angle, does it always look that good? I sure am interested.
Ok I typed too slow, now I have it. Looks great.

The look is very similar to polished silver, its a bit textured like feel.
Look up ceramic coatings or poweder coatings in your area, the powder coatings is not aplicable as it does not handle heat well, the guys that do powder coating will know who does ceramic coating.....
This issue has been previouslly covered, some of our Rennlistes have had the whole exhaust done, it increases the life of the metal.
I dont want to sound like a metarlugical engineer, so if my observations are not 100% correct , please correct me.

STAR57,
Those tips looks very nice.
Midnight C4S,
Jet Hot can do the same for about the same price plus shipping. BTW, they also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Tony and FF thanks for the info, I'm definately interested. I love this stuff. Saw a C2S this last weekend and pulled over to talk to him. His was a nice looking 98 Vesuvio/gray int. I loved his car but I thought my big ovals really looked a little better than his tips. I would love to dress them up.
When you say do the whole thing, what do you mean? What's the cost?
