Hi all. There is a tiptronic steering wheel on ebay that I think I want to bid on and could use your help. I am looking do the stereo controls DIY. In looking at the various DIYs on the web, I am not clear that I need the support contact piece. (993-652-213-00) Dealer is quoting me $200 for the part, sound right? So I need the wheel, the wiring harness, the contact switch, and the IR converter, anything else? Any of these optional? Thanks.

I never did the conversion but from what I recall you do need the part.

In the end, it seemed like a lot of work for a small amount of convenience. Secondly after looking at the tip wheels, I really didn't like the button placement, etc. (Personal preference).
