What Mechanic Shops do the majority of 993 owners in and around Rockville MD use? Other than the dealer that is!

Mark will probably jump in here, but if he misses this thread, zap him a PM. Last I heard he was very happy with his guy and I remember the charges were about half what I've had to cover for labor when I don't DIY.

In the immediate Rockville area, try AutoTherapy in Gaithersburg, 301-417-7111. Roger Bratter is the owner. He has worked on my 993, and I know of at least 3 other 993 owners who use him. If you want to venture further away from Rockville, there are good shops up near Baltimore and down in Northern VA.

Thanks guys, I used Autotherapy once for my 968 but moved on to TAG motorworks. Ham at TAG is good but I was wondering who else was in the area..

Lots of guys use Geoff at ASG and Ivan Arzola at IMA (703-849-9590). Try googling ASG or shoot swftiii (Skip) a PM for the info.

Lots of people in the Baltimore area, myself included, use Genady Soykher at GT Performance (410-538-3400) and have been very happy with him but he is on the northeast side of town and may be too far from you. Quite a number of racers from DC and Virginia employ his services and feel that he is worth the trip.

I have used Geoff and Taylor over at ASG for about 4 years (ever since I left the dealers and warranty was over).

They do good work and are very meticulous and have great attention to detail. Their shop is the cleanest I have ever seen and all cars are stored overnight inside. I've been very pleased with their service, but feel that I pay a little premium for the extra care they take of my car and the trust that the job will be done right the first time every time. I've had ZERO issues with any job they have ever done for me.

ASG - 703.876.2811 (small shop of 4 people)
Geoff - one of the owners, Ray is the other owner
Taylor - the mechanic (other than Geoff and Ray)
Ed - office manager and Geoff's brother

Geoff and Ray are both club racers

Good luck with your search and I recommend stopping by any shop just to introduce yourself and see how you feel about the shop and the people.
