Has anyone routed speaker wires to the doors?
I'm contemplating routing new wires to the Focals I'm about to install but the rubber boots that route the wire harness to and through the door seem impenetrable.
Has anyone actually done this and have any techniques to share.
TIA!

I did this...you are right, it's the biggest PITA there ever was. You can pull the rubber boots from their housings, but the rubber gromment that holds the wire water-tight will need to be cut and replaced. I custom fashioned some from some stoppers for pyrex flasks. Ramp up the guage though, and your ears will thank you. Grin.

Thanks Sean. I'm going to dig in and try tomorrow. I'm hoping to not have to cut the grommet/boot and just roll it up and try to snake a tie wrap or stiff wire and pull the new wire through. Will post pics if it works. It does like it'll be a PITA.

Luis,
It's actually not that bad; I was able to pull 10 gauge speaker wires through without cutting up the grommet. I taped the speaker wire to a short piece of stiff wire and was able to work it through in about 5 minutes per side with just a bit of lubricant applied to help it slide through.
Cheers,
Rick
