Default Tiptronic fluid change

I've called about 5 dealerships today and got some price quotes on Tiptronic transmission fluid change/service. I was quoted anywhere from about $135 ~ $450 for the service. Why so much the discrepancy? Also, when I asked weather it was for the 'partial' change or the full 'flush', they had no idea what I was talking about. Aren't they supposed to be the 'experts'? Has anyone got the Tip serivce done by a dealership/shop that you were pleased with and would recommend? Thanks in advance.

Hi jkuniverse -

I had my trans fluid changed about a year ago at my local indi. Fluid and filter were $150, which seemed fair. Discrepancy may be differences in shop rates, if they charge actual hours vs. book rate, and how much profit they can suck out of the fluid, filter and "disposal fees". Surely there are some SoCal Listers who will chime in with a recommendation.

Good luck - Tippers Unite!

I just paid $232 plus fluids and filter for my tip service at an independent shop.
