Harvey, Not bad, can you put the old style supercup profile with the Carrera RS under neath that picture. Please. So it shows a comparison between the old and new wheel setup.

Thanks

I think it looks odd. Didn't the original ones look more like the Speedlines?

you are correct. the centers are larger in diameter. in my opinion the reverse lip is plain trite these days. it's the lip du'jour for every aftermarket wheel manufacturer and it makes these wheels look aftermarket too. obviously i am little biased and this is totally subjective, but i personally don't like them. and if i had the original supercups, which IMO don't look aftermarket, i'd have a hard time convincing myself a larger center and reverse lip was worth the money. the look just sin't that different IMO.

somehow reverse lips on 18's looks odd and on 19's it looks ok. on 993's 19's look strange, but on 996's they work fine. so i guess if i hads a 996 i'd consider a reverse lip.

Stupid question: What's a reverse lip?

I have to say I like the old ones better right now because they look more like the speedlines. Not that I would turn down a set . . .

I agree and I am not a fan of the reverse lip. Otherwise, this wheel is a winner. I hope they offer it with a regular lip as well.

Check out the difference here: http://www.kinesismotorsport.com/forged.htm

Mainly, the outer rim and inner rims are interchanged.

Harvey's side by side here is pretty good. the differences to the center on the new vs. old is barely noticeable. It looks like a slight change to the spoke...... and of course the lip. It's always nice to have options, but sometimes if it ain't broke you don't need to fix it. I think the originals, like the speedlines, are somewhat classic.

I like it and think it's an improvement. The old 17" face always looked too small. If you wanted OEM, you wouldn't have any lip.

I am sorry but the older Supercup with its 17" center was always broke IMO. Especially, considering that all other models, including Speedline's had true 18" centers.

I agree that an 18" center would have been better, however, I still think that the older version of the Supercup looked more like the OEM Speedline. The new Supercup maybe an overall visual improvement but it's a step further away from the OEM Speedline than the old Supercup.

Following are some pics of the OEM Speedline followed by the old Supercup (thanks to everyone whose pictures I've used):

I love the speedlines and the 'look' of the old SC. Not a fan of the reverse lip. Looks a little plain. At least on a wheel like these that a relatively busy.

While we're at it, here are some other OEM Speedline knock-offs. Personally, as far as imitations go I think the old Kinesis Supercups were the best. (Thanks to the owners of these great cars for the pictures, too!)

I'm glad somebody mentioned the price because now I don't have to think about them anymore.

I like 'em.
