That looks like the RS shifter which is made out of painted silver plastic instead of metal.

Hi,

Just to add my 0.02 worth........ I have the RS wheel and the RS shift ****/boot - both OEM from a trip in the US before i bought the TT! They have both worn well and LOOK (and feel) the BEST!! Much bigger improvement (but no airbag) over standard - and theing i like the most - is ythat they are the same vintage as the car - i know some ppl like to have the 996 stuff - but i just LOVE the look of this!

Anyway we can get just the - e brake on this deal?? - still looking for a good second hand one - and have seen Gerts - but dont like it $400 bucks worth.......

Thanks
Simon

Cool

If you can open it to the 964 folks there might be a few that would participate.

For 964 the only option I see is this one (no carbon fiber ):

I really like the short/chubby shifter **** in CF that I saw in a 996 Turbo.

Not sure if it is the same as this one:

Hi Dave,

Thanks for doing the legwork on this. Does this deal apply only for the alum/leather shifter or is there a deal on the carbon 996 shifter?

Does everyone in the group buy have to get the same shifter/handbrake?

Do you guys think it will look funny getting the carbon 996 shifter and leaving the mismatch leather e-brake handle on?

I'm not sure. I can e-mail Gert and see.....but that won't be until Saturday. I'm off to Costa Rica tonight and won't be back until then. You can go to carnewal.com and ask him if you'd like....let me know if you do so I don't duplicate the query.

I did this last summer.
I have the 996Turbo CarbonFiber shifter with carbon ebrake handle.
It looks great and feels great IMHO. Better than the 'golf ball' 993 shifter.
It does not look stupid or out-of-place and looks great.

No problems. I will contact him since it seems everyone else is interested in the alum/leather shifter. I will post his reply in case someone is interested. Thanks. Have fun in Costa Rica!

I was wondering if it looks out of place w/o the carbon e-brake handle.

Do you have any pics of your interior?

it looks fine with just the aluminum ebake handle as well...
just look at the ebrake handle, there is very little CF on it.. it looks fine with any ebrake handle, but better with aluminum.
