Be careful when you pull the headlight assy in and out, especially the passenger side. When you put back in, pull the wires in the trunk to take up the slack as you slide the light in. If you don't the bottom of the headlight will rub against the wire and do bad things to your connections. Nothing that electrical tape can't fix but learn from my mistake.

Wow, my next post is #993.

If you guys want crazy lighting, you can always put in a plug and play H3 HID kit in the fog light. It will match for one and plus you get really bright road lighting. The place that I know that has the best prices plus warrenty is apexcone.com. I am not aflliated with them at all. The plug and play kit for any temperature range with lifetime warrenty on the bulb and ballast is around 200 plus shipping. You can ask Krazy007, he will be getting a set soon...

I went to their website, and didn't see anything for the H3...

HID's in the foglights is probably not such a good idea. see this thread

https://rennlist.com/forums/2382045-post.html

And in particular post #28

https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...5&postcount=28

Which references information in the website here:

www.danielsternlighting.com

I've never seen a transverse arc, H3 based, HID bulb. Sure you'd get more "defined" light, but the spread would probably cause a huge amount of glare to oncoming traffic.

But it's all about personal choice in the end!

Also, that apexcone site does not show 4300K lighting which most all of the Rennlisters have put in, so I doubt the "color match"...

Cost is shown as considerably more than the quoted $200 too!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to rain on anyones parade... Just that the best deal still apears to be that which fellow rennlisters have used, and appear to be very happy with.

Point well taken (well, by me, at least). Now if I could get the local ricer boys, and low-rider caddy's in my neighborhood to sign up to the "I will not unneccessarily blind oncomming traffic" pledge, I would be happy!

LOL!

Know what you mean... same thing as "why did I get a ticket officer?" when you see 100's of *BLUE* headlights, turn signals and even BRAKE LIGHTS!

Those should be easy "revenue" generation schemes... Guess that some Cops must be color blind.

They have it....they just haven't updated there site for some reason. You can call them up or just email them at sales@xtecusa.com
The main guy there is Jim. For reliability issues and stuff, you can look on bimmerforums.com for the long history of reports on this person. His screen name on that is jsp98m3. They carry all the plug and play for any size.

The one you see on the site is XTEC brand, those are more expensive b/c of the ballast, it has circutry (sp?) that will not throw a fault code. Plus the XTEC brand is the OEM HID for VW in Brazil. I am not trying to scam or get some money, just passing up offers to save others money as I have the items on my BMW and my fathers 911 with no issues.

Its the APEXCONE brand that you want and not the XTEC.
Eric from Supreme Power Parts also knows Jim...just for reference.
