Default Anyone have the Reus Audio System?

I went to the NY Auto show today and there was a vendor called Reus that had a GT3 with a great sounding stereo. What attracted me to it was it looked completely stock (no sub boxes anywhere in the cabin). I spoke with the owner, Rick Reus, and he stated he had installed his system in "hundreds" of 993's.

Does anyone here have this system? If so, how do you like it?

It is a little expensive ~$4,000, but sounded very nice.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

TIA

His systems are pretty popular with the 996 guys. Here is his site http://www.reusaudio.com . I have been into car audio as a hobby for 10 years or so and I have never heard of him other than from the 996 guys. I am not even sure what he actually sells. I have never heard anything bad about him though.

The majority of everyone here uses Rod Birch in CA. He really goes out of his way to help the rennlist members with phone support and good prices.

Thanks for the input. I know about Rod and have been "on the fence" about his system primarily because of the sub location in the rear foot well(s).

The Reus system doesn't have this issue and that's what made it so attractive to me (although the price is a little high).

Interesting. Does the Reus system have a sub at all? I suppose with a large enough driver in the door like a 7 or 8" from the right brand would provide enough low end extension to negate the use of a sub.

There's a Reus sub box for sale on ebay right now. It goes in the luggage compartment?

According to what I was told, the sub is in the trunk (boot). The sub, with other drivers installed in the stock locations create the bass/lower frequencies. I heard the system myself and was quite impressed.

Chuck - can you tell me where to find the Reus stand? I usually only visit things that peak my interest and I'd hate to miss this GT3.

Not Chuck but perhaps I can be of assistant. It's on the lower level where all the SUVs and trucks are. IIRC...it is towards the back to the left, right near MB. They also have a Modena Spyder displayed as well as the GT3.

Here's a point of reference....

Good luck!

5000$ is very expensive for a nice soundsystem. If you put new front speakers ( Focal Utopia for example) and an amp with minimum 100 watt rms (Soundstream Van Gogh series or rockford fosgate) new rear speakers (Boston) in a 993 you would be surprised what a difference that makes!!

I did this recently in my car and it's a high end sound quality. If you guys want I can post some pictures.

Regards

As mentioned above, it was on the lower level by the SUV's. I thought it was more toward the middle, but all the way in the back.

I thought it was near the KIA display (there was a very cute girl there), but I could be wrong

been audiophile for a long time, played with LINN, sota, well tempered, cj, arc, mac, krell, levinsion, jrdg, cello, sonus faber, thiel, avalon you name it. car system will NEVER compare to home systems, but reuss is the best car audio system i have ever heard. however, i am not sure about spending $5k on a car system.

I'd like to some pictures. Can you also post the model numbers of the speakers and amp you used?
