Default !@%! CEL: Code = P1115

Hey all,

I got the bloody CEL today and I just checked it w/ the scanner. The code came up as P1115. Does anyone have any idea of what this is? I checked one website and it mentioned a problem w/ the idle, I think.

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Rich

PS: How do I turn off the CEL? Thanks, again.

it seems to be O2 sensor related but I didn't find a reliable source.

Thanks, Graham...

According to one site, this is my problem:

1115 Idle Control Interrupted

Translation, anyone? I believe I have a fuel pump going out, so could this affect the car's idle?

I can't believe it. Graham did not find a source or a link, video, photo. You're slipping Graham. You always got a relative answer.

Absolutely. Have you changed the fuel filter?

Randy,

I'll cut Graham some slack since I think it's in the early morning hours for him right now.

was that a Porsche OBD code? Different manufacturers use the same code for different faults.

Graham,

I believe so. I went to a website that had links to different manufacturers.

Okay, thanks to my Hawaiian bruddah, Kelly (kkim), he kindly pointed out that the following is the proper diagnosis for my CEL.

Compliments of: http://iequus.com/obd_def.asp

P1115 = O2S Heater 1 Ahead of Catalytic Converter Cyl. 1-3

What exactly does this mean? Thanks, again, everyone!

It means that the O2 sensor on bank 1 did not reach it's pre determined resistance (heat level) in a specific amount of time after engine startup. This could be a bad ground of the heating wire or a bad sensor itself. If the CEL only came on once, I wouldn't worry about it unless it started repeating. Then check the connectors and wires and probably replace.

Fault codes that start with P1 indicate a Powertrain(P) fault specific to the car's manufacturer(1). A code that starts with PO(zero) is a generic powertrain code common to all.
