Default Anyone know of a 'fix' for a faulty air flow distribution slider?

First... be gentle on a rookie request.

The floor/foot well air flow distribution slider in my climate control untit is no longer working. The slider is feels 'loose' as I slide it back and forth. Unlike the normal feel of slight resistance. Moving the slider from far left to far right does not change in the small amount of air coming through the vents. The top/windshield slider works fine.

I know this is a small problem...I'll blame trying to fix it on the extended winter weather this year and resulting 'cabin fever'... afterall if you can't drive it, and you're tired of sitting in the garage staring at it... you might as well fix/install something.

So before I pull the climate contol unit, I thought someone could tell me if the slider problem is common, repairable or just your 2 cents worth.

By the way, I have searched the board...learned a lot about servos and flaps... but I think this problem has to do with the slider mechanism not being able to control the servos.
