I occasionally use my Bosch Hammer, but mostly use the PST2 and have never
seen that info being displayed. It may depend on what Hammer firmware you have.
Mine has Version 8.0 - 10/95. The Hammer doesn't provide any OBDII functional
capability. At least mine doesn't.

The catridge ROM that I have has 8.0 written on it but when you turn the Hammer on it says Version 8.1, Mod. intro. 01.10.95. (i bought it directly from Porsche) When you go to the first screen it says;

Vehicle Type
1=944
2=911
3=928
>

then goto the next screen and it says;

< Vehicle Type
1=968


>

then goto the next screen;

< special function
1=Pulse Factor
2=CARB (ISO)

I tried my Hammer and I've got the same exact cartridge with the same displays.
I've never used the "CARB(ISO)" mode, but I think it allows connection to a '95
993 with ODBII type of connector (J1962) versus the old round one as used on
the older cars. This mode doesn't do the OBDII functions, though.

I think Bosch did provide a special OBDII cartridge for the Hammer, though.

I just found out I have a OBDI "1-5" problem. It's listed as the Throttle Potentiometer: Anyone know the fix? Funny i haven't worried about it for almost a year until I came to this thread and the "turn the ignition on, place accelerator pedal to floor for 3+ sec. Wow! it actually worked - 1-5.

Maybe if the car miles warrant, try replacing the O2 sensor first since??? (I know that's heresey to a few) O2 sensor wiring is pretty robust and will not generally be affected by jostling about, etc. But the sensor element does go bad over time. Contrary to what a lot of folks suggest, I never put any sort of thread oil or similar compounds on an O2 sensor threads to help rethread it. Don't need it and if you get even a microscopic amount on the sensor, it is irrepairably ruined. For the price you will pay for a sensor, I would not 'dress the threads' with anything before it's installed. Running problems I have had in the past that pointed towards the O2 sensor 'system' have been instantly fixed by replacng the O2 sensor. If a new O2 sensor is not the problem, you have a new one and it is a known good component in your system. This is an extremely 02. cts worth,

Are you getting a flashing code response of 1-5 or 1-1-1-5 or 1-2-1-5? A straight 1-5 means you have no faults.

Ok I cant get it work.. first I have a 95 993 OBDI no USA. What I do... insert key and turn ignition-push gas to floor and... nothing flash (what is CEL?) in my dash nothing flash...

UPSSS SORRRY... but I have another question. If I dont have a CEL light ON. and I do The IGN+ 3segGAS. I can get any flash... and Thanks a lot
