Default Wheel Question

I am thinking about buying some used turbo twist wheels for my '95 coupe. I plan on having them painted black with silver lip. These wheels are currently on ebay

Can anyone give me an opinion as to whether these might be good candidates. They are scuffed but does that matter if you are going to get them painted?

Any help appreciated.

For me, I would save a few extra bucks and buy 18" turbo twists.
Beauty is always in the beholder's eye, but 17" twists offer no performance enhancement over the Cup-2 wheels you have today.

For the original question, if you send the wheels to a professional re-finisher, they will fix the scuffs and paint them. I've been quoted $125 from Wheels America in Dallas.

Ditto what Scott said plus, the rears are not the correct width and offsets. They'll still fit but I think are for the boxster. The rears should be 17x9 with an offset of 55

Randy - also beware that if you paint 17s black w/silver lip it will make the wheel look too small - better to do that w/18s. Also make sure you check to see if you need the steering brace for the 95 if you get 18s.

However, w/ respect, I disagree with the performance issue. I read more than once that the 911 was built and tested around stock wheel sizes and increasing that size can overburden the suspension. There is a article about this in the new European Car mag...I am sticking with 17s as a comprimise.
