No I wouldn't say so either - but insurance companies here are quick to write off cars for some reason. So far I've only heard negative stuff. But I'm going to fight it.

Are any of the panels severly misaligned? Do the doors fit and open/shut fine? My guess you are looking at about a $10k job to replace the panels. Maybe less if they are repairable.

That's the problem. If the repair value it 50/60% of the car's value then they write it off over here...
Everything seems straight except the bumper/light alignment at the rear (brackets must be broken where she sat there).

From one Portsmouth Porsche Wrecker to another, glad you are o.k. If you saw my avatar one month ago with the entire right side crushed you'd know these cars are really well made and very solid. It would take more than what it looks like from your photos to total yours out. You'll be fine. Good luck.

Hey! I think I've seen your pics.. you did a really good job of breaking yours
I'm going to push VERY hard for repair, I've come to love my 993 much more than I could ever imagine.
She's mine.

Good man, Dan - if the doors, sunroof and hatches still work 100% it's probably a good candidate to repair. Heck, my car was repairable and the tub was bent.

Well the passenger door won't unlock - but it'll open. I think the wiring took a bang or the solenoid died. But otherwise it's straight. Hell of a chassis.

Dan:
'Couldn't tell from the photos, but if you're not running snow tires from October through April in the UK, you really should. You will be amazed how greasy your Z rated tires are below 45 degress F - well perhaps you now know.
Best of luck with the car or its replacement.

Snow tires? Here? LOL.. this is the South of England.. we don't do snow. Plus, it was 10c outside at 8pm - so hardly cold. If snow is on the ground, she doesn't move. I have no storage for a second set of rims/tyres.
Again, this is the UK hawk - they will total cars very easily. The car next to mine is a WRX Subaru - it's totalled due to mileage would you believe?

I agree with the other posters; don't be hard on yourself. I drive rotaries/roundabouts.. most every day around Boston and I've driven a fair amount in the UK on vacations(generally Vauxhalls not Porsches). I agree with your general assessment of the UK road conditions and description of your roundabouts. FWIW, I'll add that roundabouts in the UK are MUCH SMALLER(smaller diameter, radius..) than those around Boston. Remember that lateral forces associated with circular motion are INVERSELY proportional to the radius(1/r). Everything else being equal, mass of car, velocity, lateral forces generated in smaller UK roundabouts will be greater, then increased risk of spin.
Hope you can repair the car.

there is NO way that car should be totalled.
It doesnt look that bad at all.
What needs to be replaced besides body panels on right side? Is the frame bent?
Find the best concours/restoration/bodyshop for porsche -- call porsche club and ask for the concours chairman. Get his recommendation.
Then tell us what really needs to be done. Unless u wanted to get rid of it anyway, i think you can fix it and get some upgrades in the process.
