I am getting close to this. First, has anyone seen the light grey, is it a match with the grey in our cars? From the color sample on this web page, it looks like it is.
http://www.justcarseats.com/recarora...optcarseat.htm

Second, which topline seats are they? There appear to be three types. The attached web page shows the diiference. I think the last ones as they have the harness holes.
http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/...yleTopline.asp
http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/...endTopline.asp
http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/seat/topline04.asp

Finally, anyone know how well they fit in a 996? pictures?

Rob, sorry about all the questions. I will try and answer them as well.

Is it just me or does it look like the harness holes look too small? I don't think I could fit my Schroths through there.

chris
let me try to help.
I dont know how many shades of gray, recaro makes, but i think they make 3 shades gray in leather (light, medium, dark) .. the other fabric 'swatches' shown are not leather, but various forms of cloth. Frankly, i think the seats would look great in black, even if your interior is gray. Or, call recaro and ask which matches the gray from a porsche.

The last link is the seats:
http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/seat/topline04.asp

Your first 2 links are for different models and are not the sport topline seats - so ignore them.

Lastly, these seats do fit in 996 cars. All the high end tuners such as techart and gemballa are using these seats as their offering for the current porsches.
i hope this helps.

Yes, Sport is the model, Topline is the version of the model. The other two links posted were Recaro's Style model and Trend model, both available in Topline versions.

The Topline version has the electric controls and heat, etc. Without the manual ***** to adjust the seatback rake, they are supposed to fit 993s with no problems.

Ok, can i get some indication of interest?
For those that want the seat in the 'non-topline' (e.g. manual w/o heat) - it will be a bit less and im sure will count towards our required quantity.

IMHO, these are the 2-piece best sport seats available and are no more expensive than what people are paying for 9 yr old OEM sport seats . Other than it not having a porsche crest, these seats are 1-NEW, 2-better, 3-have all the comforts of leather, lumbar, heat, 4- still have an OEM look as recaro makes the OEM seat and every tuner is offering these as their favored 'seat upgrade'

Id rather this not drag out too long and into the nice weather.
thanks

Keith, Have you seen the Cobra seats in Beige leather? I think it's the Misano in mustard leather and carbon back. This should match your Cashmere Beige droolingly!!

Have you ruled out black seats for a black/cashmere two tone interior? I wound up buying black GT3 seats to replace my cashmere standard seats. You can replace or recover the rear seats, or swap for a RSD kit which is what I did.

I'm very interested in these seats but I am not sure of the price. This site below is quoting a price of 1125 per seat(x2=2250). I have forgotten the mounting bracket price but they would have to be 500 for the set to equal 2724 you have been quoted. Am I missing something like tax or shipping charges?

miles - you forget the $425 x2 they want to charge, for heat and electric power. Also you forgot the brackets to mount each side which is approx 250 x 2.
The price i got from FVD includes brackets as well as full comfort package (heat and power).
I you want the non-comfort, then i can get a price for that, but we can assume about 700-800 less.
Lets get this going ..

I'd be somewhat interested in the black sport seat David...however....they're just as hard to find as the cashmere.....although, I'm somwhat partial to the cashmere as I am sure you can understand !!

Sorry boys, not trying to hi-jack the group buy thread here...

mike - im sure we can get the recaro seat in tan... they must have porsche matching leather as recaro is the OEM supplier.

Keith - perhaps we can get your 'girlfriend' to sit in a Recaro Topline to get this group buy going. Otherwise, if she is available, i might just forget it and get the cobra.

I spoke to FVD and for those that want the seats withOUT power & heat, it would be approx $400 x 2 less - so figure around 1900-2000 for the set with mounting sliders. This is for a full leather, Recaro sportline - this will count towards our needed quantity.

What should we do?

Unfortunately FVD had no comment on the lady pictured above.

Rob,
I am 99% in! I will need different sliders than you 993 guys. Also, we will be able to order different leather colors? What I am getting at is that all the order do not have to be identical?, do they?
My order will be for two Midnight (dark) Blue leather seats with heat/vent and 968/944 power sliders
Let me know
Thanks
