So talking with Kinesis I was told that they are no longer making the Supercup line and that they would be willing to take my wheels in on trade for a newer wheel. I never asked for details, prices ,etc as I wasn't interested at the time.
I told them no but the more I think about it, the more I'm toying with the idea of getting the 18" K28r's.

So what would my wheels be worth on the open market (eBay)? The wheels (18") are less than 2 years old and are in very good shape. I would hope that I could get at least $500 a wheel ($2k for the set) but is that a reasonable assumption?
Go here for pic's of my car with the Supercups... (white 996)

I think the group buy is for the "new" Supercup which would now have a 18" or 19" (Reverse) center instead of the 17" center on the current wheel.

This rim has a reverse lip so the center diameter is larger.

Check with Kary993 with Group 9 Motorsports (http://www.group9motorsports.com/) ... he said that he would match the pricing for the original group buy at the time. However I am not sure if that offer is still valid or not so you will have to verify with him.

The centers are cast, not forged. Some of the wheel purists that have influence over us neophytes maintain that forged centers are the best way to go....forged will bend, and not crack under impact...ergo, the Supercups "olde style" may morph to "orphan" status.
However, just as there is a seat for every butt, there is a home for every wheel set. I's offer them to Rennlisters first...hell, we'll buy anything. Next, put them on e-Bay with a moderate reserve, they'll sell.
Kary at www.group9motorsports.com is a Kinesis dealer. He will do right buy you. Tell him I sent you and he'll charge you 20% more!

I say good riddence! That 'supercup' wheel is heavy and problemematic IMHO... not a good track wheel.. and seemed to bend too easily as a street wheel

they are cast in the center (making them NOT light overall).. and the cast component is subject to CRACKING easily in track conditions... need I say more?
