Default CEL P0410 - help

Thanks for giving a new member a chance to post. I know I will do it wrong but here goes. My Check Engine Light came on showing code P0410 (secondary air injection system malfunction). So do I rush to my dealer or is this something I can live with until my yearly check-up in May? Maybe it is just of little importance but I have no idea! Thanks for giving me the chance to post!

I would suggest clearing the code, using a OBDII scanner. Drive the car for a while , and see if (when) it comes back.Sometimes it takes quite a while. If you don't need a smog check, it's no problem. You will not notice any difference in your car's performance. The worst thing is having to look at that d@mn CEL light, glaring at you in your beautiful sports car!

If your CEL light (check engine light) stays on after you clear the codes, and after you clear it again it comes back on after driving it just a little bit, you could always do what I did and stick a square piece of black gaffers tape over the CEL and you then don't have to look at that hideous thing anymore.

Enjoy your car.

I second FisterD, you can buy a scanner for $100 to read and reset the codes yourself, well worth it.
